Did Prabhupada say, "I have finished my rounds. Now I can do any damn thing?"

Q: I heard on a video someone say that once, after Prabhupada finished chanting his rounds, he said, “Now I can do any damn thing.” It seems a little unlikely.

A: He was joking.

Q: yes, I see

A: For Prabhupada, "any damn thing . . . " means preaching Krishna consciousness, but for us, it may be different...

Q: It’s just that someone new might not get such a joke

A: He was mocking devotees who are satisfied simply to chant their rounds, thinking that is everything, and have no real taste to do more service after that.

Q: I never heard Srila Prabhupada swear before, so I was a little bothered.

A: It was in jest only, and a rare thing at that.
