Appearance of Srivasa Thakura
Srivasa Pandita, or Srivasa Thakura, was a member of the Pancha-tattva, consisting of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and His four immediate expansions and energies (Nityananda Prabhu, Advaita Acharya, Gadadhara Pandit, and Srivasa Pandita.) Every night, Mahaprabhu and His associates would chant the names of Krishna and dance in Srivasa Pandita's house. Srivasa Pandita never made any effort to support himself or his dependents. Because of his full dedication to Lord Chaitanya and His mission, Lord Chaitanya provided for all his needs.
Srivasa Thakura's name is included in the Pancha-Tattva mantra, which devotees of Lord Chaitanya chant every day:
shri krishna chaitanya, prabhu nityananda
shri advaita, gadadhara
"I offer my obeisances to Sri Krishna Chaitanya, Prabhu Nityananda, Sri Advaita, Gadadhara, Srivasa, and all others in the line of devotion."
