Slow and steady wins the race! Only $12,000 $5,221 more is needed to keep alive and vibrant for the next six months. A big THANK YOU to those who've contributed to our Fall Fundraiser so far. If everyone gave a few dollars (say, between five and fifty) we could get rid of this banner and go back to doing what we love most: helping people all over the Internet discover Krishna. If you give $25 or more, we'll email you a gift of the Bhagavad-gita audio book. How about that? Click here to donate.

BG Chap 14 - The effects of modes in summary

Sattva produces attachment to happiness. When one is contaminated by goodness, he is too self satisfied to follow the dictates of the Supersoul. Rajas produces attachment to fruitive action. When one is contaminated by the mode of passion, his desires speak too loudly that he cannot hear the voice of the Supersoul. Tamas, covering knowledge produces attachment to madness or inattention. If one is contaminated by the mode of ignorance, he is too inert, ignorant and mad to hear the Supersoul. Thus one is happy, another is very active, while another is helpless, depending on the modes one is situated in.
