Slow and steady wins the race! Only $12,000 $5,221 more is needed to keep alive and vibrant for the next six months. A big THANK YOU to those who've contributed to our Fall Fundraiser so far. If everyone gave a few dollars (say, between five and fifty) we could get rid of this banner and go back to doing what we love most: helping people all over the Internet discover Krishna. If you give $25 or more, we'll email you a gift of the Bhagavad-gita audio book. How about that? Click here to donate.

BG Chap 14 - The opposite natures of goodness and ignorance

Sattva creates inactivity based on knowledge, but tamas creates inactivity based on a lack of knowledge. In the mode of goodness, by development of knowledge, one can understand what is what, but the mode of ignorance is just the opposite. Everyone under the spell of the mode of ignorance becomes mad, and a madman cannot understand what is what. Instead of making advancement, one becomes degraded. In goodness we can work purely. In passion we at least produce fruits from our work that may be offered to Kṛṣṇa. Ignorance, however, produces nothing but deeper ignorance.
