Slow and steady wins the race! Only $12,000 $5,221 more is needed to keep alive and vibrant for the next six months. A big THANK YOU to those who've contributed to our Fall Fundraiser so far. If everyone gave a few dollars (say, between five and fifty) we could get rid of this banner and go back to doing what we love most: helping people all over the Internet discover Krishna. If you give $25 or more, we'll email you a gift of the Bhagavad-gita audio book. How about that? Click here to donate.

BG Chap 15 - The entrapment of the living entity within the tree

Depending upon which branch a living entity is located, he will possess a certain material body and a specific type of senses, and according to the combination of modes that influences that part of the tree, he will be attracted to particular “twigs,” or sense objects. Thus the living entity, traveling from one birth to the next, from the higher branches of demigod life to the lower branches of animal life, seeks pleasure, but in fact attains only further entrapment in fruitive action and future deaths. With the depletion of the enjoyment of the results of previous karma, the impressions resulting from that enjoyment give rise to new karma on the earth planet. After enjoying the results of one’s actions, those actions become stimulus for actions in another human birth. Thus the jīva gets trapped in the cycle of birth and death.
