Which is better—to earn lots of money and donate to Krishna and spread His name or to stop earning money and chant His name?

Q: Which is better—to earn lot of money and give donations to Krishna's temples and spread HIS name or to stop earning lot of money and do chanting?

A: Both are good Krishna conscious activities. It depends on your own mentality which is better for you.
It is better to be an honest sweeper of the street than a charlatan meditator.
Most people cannot fully engage in pure spiritual activities of hearing, chanting, and remembering Krishna all day.

A: For them it is better to be married and perform some honest work to maintain their families.
You have to understand what you can do. You could try living in our ashrama for some time and see if ashrama life is for you.

My employer is forced to lie to banks and creditors due to his financial condition. Since I am the finance person in his company, I have to support him but am very disturbed about this.

A: Yes. That is a frustrating situation. Unfortunately that sometimes goes on in business.
If you change your business, you also may encounter the same thing.

A: Srila Prabhupada indicates that a businessman should not give up his occupation because occasionally he has to lie.
He mentions that a businessman says, "For you I make no profit." But without making a profit, how can he survive?
