A couple of months ago I blogged about some recent liasons with the Australian Press by former High Court Judge Justice Michael Kirby who said "Just stare into the eyes of a cow and you will see yourself looking at you because they are also like us - beasts that feel pain and suffering."

Mr Kirby is in the press again, speaking more common sense - an item sorely lacking in today's media.
