The Vedas can clear our vision to see authentic truth reaching beyond our limited ability to perceive and speculate. It's called seeing through the eyes of sastra, or seeing with a spiritual mindset.
Bhagavad-gita (2.62) states that one’s desires and ambitions develop according to the company one keeps. If we keep company with devotees of Krishna, we will develop our love for Krishna.
Once we become convinced of the necessity of awakening our innate love for God, we want to act to awaken that love, then we will take guidance from a pure devotee who will engage us in the practices of Bhakti yoga.
